When speaking on the phone, especially during a future hiring conversation, do not multi task. You will not only be demonstrating lack of focus but also rudeness. Rude people … don’t usually get hired.

When is the last time you use your tape recorder? Tape yourself in a phone conversation and listen to the tape to determine your voice tone.

Much of verbal communication is understood through voice tone and inflection. Ending your sentences on a high or questioning tone weakens your communication efforts.

Keep your communication confident and positive … by understanding and adjusting your voice tone.
