The Thankful Executive

I know you are at your desk slogging away on the month end close report. Please take 5 minutes today to reflect on that person in your life who keeps the home fires burning, so that when it is time to leave the pressure cooker for the day, you have a sanctuary to come home to.

Get on the phone today and send him/her flowers for no reason. Make a habit of doing this once a month, unannounced. Executives who express thanks to their friends and family seem to be more centered and less out of balance.

Whether you thank the family you love, or your volunteer family, the net result is balance  …and a loving environment.
